Ryker David

I promised Sharee that I would do a quick update to the blog today while I am home showering and changing. I can easily say that yesterday was the best day of my life. I was pessimistic though that the day would ever come, and it was that way until I saw kicking feet and heard a small cry. After a miscarriage, a failed adoption, and failed fertility treatments for five years, our reproductive history has been a dark cloud. Every dark cloud, however, has a silver lining. Ryker David is our silver lining.

He tried as hard as he could to stay in the womb for as long as possible. Six hours after they started Sharee on some medication her water broke and we had high hopes that it would be a quick delivery. Twelve hours later she was only dilated to a four and the baby was showing signs of struggle. We ended up doing a C-section, and boy are we glad that we did. The cord was wrapped around little Ryker's neck and honestly the kid has a huge noggin.
Ryker David was born April 22 at 6:30 pm. He weighed 8lbs-8oz. and was 21 inches long. He's a healthy vibrant baby and Sharee is recovering quickly. Here are some photos of our beautiful little guy.

Sharee, I am so proud of you. You will be the best mom.
Love, Dave

Congrats you two! I'm so glad that everything turned out ok. I'm excited to see your little angel in person. Life will never be the same, and, you know, that is perfectly ok. It will only get better.
