Update on our son
I had a Dr. appt. on Thursday afternoon and everything went smoothly. We are right on track and hopefully our son will be early or right on time with his due date. I am retaining a lot of water but the Dr. doesn't seem to be concerned. It is a good thing that I can not see my feet or ankles when I am standing but it is really sad when I sit down to take off my shoes or socks and see that my feet are twice their normal size and I don't really have ankles anymore. I did gain more weight than I expected but the Dr. said that was probably because of the water retention, lets hope so. I also thought I might be one of those lucky few who does not get stretch marks. I was doing well until 2 weeks ago, I was rubbing lotion on my belly when I saw 3 purple spots on my belly. I had to take a closer look, sure enough stretch marks UGH! These stretch marks are right next to my belly button not on my sides, hips, or thighs like most people. I am now one of those unlucky few who even if I wanted to can no longer wear a bikini. I am grateful that Dave loves my belly anyways. He is always rubbing my belly and telling me how good I look. Thanks sweetheart, you are the best!
Dave and I have been busy this weekend trying to rearrange the house to get the nursery ready for our son. Since the office in the basement is not completed, Dave had to do some wiring for the Internet to be in our bedroom. I don't think that he expected it to take a good portion of Friday and 2 trips to Home Depot. I was busy cleaning our room and office so that we could move the necessary furniture around. I have also been washing all the blankets, burp cloths, & bibs that I will need for our son. We successfully cleaned out the nursery, organized the basement, & cleaned out all the closets. We still have all the furniture & one accent wall to paint before we can complete the nursery. We are so anxious and excited to complete everything for our son. I can't believe that our son will be here in about a month.
We also went to an all day birthing class on Saturday at EIRMC. The instructor was very informative. The more I watch birthing videos the more confident I am that I can do the whole labor thing. Up until now I have been so unsure if I could go through with having the baby. I know it seems a little late to be concerned about that. Let's just say that knowledge is power and the more I read and see the labor process the better I feel about the whole thing. Dave usually knows more about the labor process than I do but I think that I am catching up. I know that he will be a great support and coach through the labor. I have the best husband in the world!

It's getting so close and exciting! Careful, as soon as I painted the boarder in our nursery he came.
That last month is soooo fun!! I am always so anxious and LOVE getting everything ready just like you are. I didn't get any stretch marks with my first, but with the second, I CRIED! I was so sad to see them appear...I really cried, and then tried everything after to get rid of them. They're still there...no bikini's for me either!
I can't wait to see some pictures of your nursery...or i guess i could walk down the street one of these days and bring you cookies or something :) I really want to take that EIRMC class after talking to you. As the time gets closer I am getting a little freaked out for the big day!
Hey girl, I am so happy everything is going good for you and your son. I love ya tons and can't wait to see you soon. Just think the next time we see each other you will be holding your son. Oh and about the blog paper you can do the same, We both have amazing taste:-) Take care and make sure you sleep in every saturday until your baby comes, because those days will be gone before you know it!
Love Nichole
