It's raining baby gifts!

As I said earlier we had a very busy weekend with our families. Both of my sisters Lezette & Tiffany were excited to throw me a baby shower (we all have been waiting years). We have had this planned for months and I have been so anxious to get everything ready for our baby to arrive. We had the shower/open house at Tiffany's home from 11 to 1. I was surprised at how many people came to support our son. We have very generous families and friends! We received so many great gifts and our son is going to be set with clothes for about the first year. My mom went over board with 2 quilts, a bib, and a baby blessing outfit. Both of my sisters went in on a crib mattress, an outfit, a receiving blanket, 2 burp cloths, and a bib (the blanket, burp cloths and bib were all crocheted around the edges). I think that my immediate family is just as excited to have a new member of the family as I am. We enjoyed great food provided by my sisters and two of my aunts, Darla & DeAnne. We had a chicken pasta salad with grapes, celery, cashews, and pineapple (one of my favorites). The food also included fresh fruit with dip, homemade rolls, and homemade cream puffs. Debbie & Erin were also excited to throw me a shower. We decided to have them on the same day so I didn't have to come down again this month. The closer that I get to my due date the harder it is to sit in a car for 3 hours. They had their shower/open house at Debbie's from 3 to 5 in the afternoon. There was a great spread of food to choose from including: Deli meat & cheese with rolls, pasta salad, green salad, apple salad, a vegetable tray, fruit & dip, and cream puffs. I was thrilled at the support from family & friends. Again we were spoiled. Debbie bought us a travel set (car seat and stroller) and our nursery bedding. Erin and Jami both bought really cute outfits for our son. Dave went golfing with the guys and showed up at the end to see everything that we had received. He also agrees that we are so blessed to have such great family & friends.
