Dave and I always tell ourselves that we are going to lots of hiking and outdoor activities, but then reality hits and something major comes up. This year we focused on our landscaping in the front yard. On the weekends that we have been home that is where most of our time has been spent. The 2
nd weekend in July, I decided we needed a break from all that. It just so happened that we saw our friends Greg & Kimberly and mentioned that we were going to go hiking the next day but were trying to decide where. I wasn't sure if there was hiking around Mesa Falls but we thought we would go and give it a try. We all met up and drove to Mesa Falls for a Saturday morning hike. There really wasn't much of a trail like we originally thought but kept going. Soon we are surrounded by steep declines, over-shadowed trail, but we could still hear the water so we continued downward. Poor Kimberly, she was wearing flip flops and so were Ethan & Lucy. Greg ended up carrying Ethan, Kimberly had Lucy and I got lucky and ended up with Owen (who is the happiest kid) for part of the hike. After an hour of hiking we hit a wall of rocks, seriously. The guys decided to continue on but the ladies decided to hold back. We didn't get to see lower Mesa Falls up close like Greg & Dave but we enjoyed the pictures. Overall it was a great hike and fun to get moving outdoors. Here are some pictures that were taken (some Kimberly took) while we enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Mesa Falls.
Lower Mesa Falls - Before & during the hike

Upper Mesa Falls - After the hiking
We love spending time outdoors! I just wish we could do it more often.

Your family is beautiful! I can't believe that Ryker is is already almost a year and a half? Crazy! Time takes it's coarse, doesn't it? Sure hope you guys are doing well. I think back and remember when Dave and I went biking up Beaver Mountain. Looks like your Mesa Falls hiking trip was probably more successful than our bike ride. I think it killed us both! You guys are great, the best wishes to you! --DJ
