April Fools Getaway

Dave had to work a crazy shift the end of March first day of April so we got a hotel for a night in Tooele. He worked until 1 AM on Thursday night (early Friday morning) and had to return the next morning to work for his regular shift at 7 AM. Ryker and I went shopping at Walmart (one of the biggest stores in town) and got some fun things to do in the hotel. We ate dinner in the hotel and walked to the theater to watch a movie. We went to Rango and Ryker hated the movie. I have never seen him move around so much and ask to leave. I heard mixed reviews on the show but it was the only kid movie at the theater. We left about half way through the show. I should have asked for a refund. We were limited on what we could do because we didn't have a car and didn't really know the area. So we went to a near by apartment complex knowing they would have a playground for Ryker to play on.
The next day we got up and packed the car to take Dave to work (about 30 minutes south from the hotel). Ryker and I went to Lehi which is the biggest town near Dave's work that we could go and find fun things to do. We went to Cabela's to look around at their museum. Ryker was not all that interested in the animals but loved the fish area.
Love how you can see the fish in the pond. I was playing around with my camera.
Loved the fishies!!
Dave called and told me he could get a ride to Draper so I though IKEA sounded good. We got in the car from Cabela's and headed toward Draper and Ryker fell asleep. I sat in the parking lot while Ryker slept. Dave gets off early on Fridays so he called after Ryker had been napping for 2 hours and told me where to meet him. I pulled into this Park near a church and Ryker woke up and wanted to play. I was having fun reading my camera manual while he was napping and wanted to try out a few things so here are the different pictures I took while waiting for Dave. Ryker found a friend to play with, this next picture says it all. They both had a fun time.
Running
Trying to pull himself up
Success
Tired from the effort
Love that smile, the little boy in the background giving his mom the thumbs up
Watching the ground move
Learning to just push himself up after running around
Love this action shot!
Little blurry but love this face anyway
The little boy wanted his picture taken too, he was feeling left out. Cute boy!
Dave meeting us at the park. It turned out that the little boy was the grandson of a guy that Dave works with.
Overall, it was a fun little over nighter but I am glad that Dave does not have to work crazy shifts like that all the time.
