First off our lab top computer was over heating... it is an HP and less than a year old. Luckily we have a warranty and so it has been in the shop for 2 weeks now. Our ancient computer is so old and slow it is really hard to sit down and want to even check out blogs, edit pictures... etc. So I have been taking a break from the computer, but I miss seeing what is going on with all my friends and family.
Second change was mentioned briefly in the last post, Dave's new job. Dave started a job that is only 8 minutes away from our house. He is working four ten hour days and gets EVERY Friday off (which is GREAT). Dave is also now working at a job that he will actually use his mechanical engineering degree doing some design work. He just started on Monday and is already SO excited to get caught up on the project he will be working on and get to work designing. Before Dave was having to commute 2 hours a day plus work 9 hours and only get every other Friday off. I am happy that he is enjoying his new job so much. Although the job did come with a pay raise the insurance is expensive and has a really high deductible (we were really spoiled in that area with the last job). I guess that is just a part of life.
Third change is that we joined a gym. I work in the nursery for 2 1/2 hours once a week and my pass & Ryker's are free. Dave gets his membership for about $20 a month. This is a really nice gym and we have been enjoying the challenge of getting into shape. We also started on the HCG diet and have both lost about 10lbs so far. We have been busy going to the gym every night but it feels great to get into a routine and fall back in love with exercise again (one of my goals for the year). Ryker has been enjoying going swimming about twice a week with us.
Ryker also turned 23 months on the 22nd of March and we have been thinking ahead about his birthday next month. We are going to Disneyland the day after his birthday so we are still deciding if we want to plan everything before or just wait until after, he won't know the difference. I still need to dedicate a post to his 23rd month of life. What a fun kid! We love being parents!
Changes... changes... changes. Change in this case has been great for us!

The new job sounds great! I didn't realize you both were doing the HCG diet. That has got to be nice for moral support. It was so fun to go swimming with you guys last week. I am going to have to find another free pass so we can do it again :)
Way to go! YOu are doing great on your goals this year.

Man, hearing about Dave's new job makes me jealous. I wish Carl had found it first. But that's okay. Being at the site means lots and lots of job security. But I think Carl would have more fun being able to use his degree more.
