Happy Birthday to the best Husband in the whole world

I am  late in posting this but to be fair we had an eventful week. I did write this up last week and was planning on doing some picture editing before I posted this but our computer is having issues and so I can't be on the computer for a long period of time. (we need to take it in to see what is going on).

HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY DAVE!!

Dave's festivities started last week when I threw together a last minute surprise party with a few friends from around our neighborhood and some of Dave's co-worker friends. We just had some cake and ice cream to help celebrate. Dave had NO idea that I planned a party and was surprised that I put it all together without him knowing anything about it. I am a terrible liar so I just avoided talking about anything related to that night until the last minute. It was great to get together with our friends. We don't have any family around so we feel grateful for the friends that we have met around the area that help Idaho feel more like home. Our wonderful friends the Perkins were so generous in letting us use their home to host the party.

We went down to Utah on Friday night after Dave came home from work. Saturday we got up and went shopping for a few gifts for Dave's family members that have birthdays in March. I attended a baby shower for one of Dave's cousins and Dave had some fun hanging out with the guys. Dave was able to do some golfing on Saturday (his first time this season... we still have about a foot of snow on the ground) and enjoyed spending time with his dad and brothers. Dave's parents took us out to Texas Roadhouse for dinner, which was delicious. Thanks Rick & Debbie for the great dinner! Then we were able to go celebrate the March birthdays at Dave's sister Erin's new house with some yummy pie from Marie Calendars.

Sunday we attended sacrament meeting with my mom and struggled to keep Ryker occupied during the meeting so we ended up leaving a little early just so we didn't have to chase him around. By Sunday Ryker's schedule was off and he was REALLY tired. Once we got back to my parents he went right down for a nap and was able to sleep for a good 3 hours. Later my family all came to dinner to celebrate Dave's birthday. We enjoyed another great meal with cheesecake & ice cream to finish off the night. We always have fun with our families!

I had Dave take off Monday so that I could stay for a Pampered Chef meeting that night. We enjoyed a day in Park City. The weather was really nice. We stopped at the outlets to shop but well they really shouldn't be called outlets anymore. With a few exceptions the stores were all the same as the ones in SLC or around here. I was REALLY disappointed and it will probably be a LONG time before I head to the outlets to shop again. Dave was a good sport through it all and was able to get a few nice gifts for his birthday. We finished the night off with dinner at Red Robin with my parents, my sister Tiffany and her hubby Tim. From there I went to my meeting and Dave went to spend some time at his parents house. We came home first thing on Tuesday (Dave's actual birthday) so he could go back to work.

I know you are all thinking what a busy weekend that we had and you are right. When we go visit we don't have much down time we are always busy running here or there, shuffling between families.  I would say that we had a wonderful weekend celebrating a very special birthday.... I mean you only turn 30 once right.

I have such an amazing husband whom I just love and adore!

I GUESS ONE BENEFIT TO POSTING THIS LATE IS TO ANNOUNCE THAT DAVE JUST TOOK A JOB WITH ANOTHER COMPANY CLOSER TO OUR HOME. RYKER AND I ARE SO EXCITED TO BE ABLE TO SPEND 2 EXTRA HOURS A DAY WITH DAVE AND HE WILL GET EVERY FRIDAY OFF.  Although we were a little unsure of the company at first Dave was able to talk with a few people about the compnay (people we actually know) and heard great things. After my fears were put to rest we were able to see the Lord's hand in the situation. I am also thrilled for Dave to actually be able to gain  experience with his Mechanical Engineering degree, a field that he loves.

Wow! First the busy weekend, and second, the new job. I didn't even know that he was looking to leave NRF. Hopefully we'll still be able to hang out. I love going to the parties you put together.

That is awesome to hear Dave will be closer. I wish we could have that. Can you believe how old we're getting? Dan's B-day is the 5th so our husbands are super close in age. Crazy! Tell him Happy Belated Birthday for me!
