As you can see in the top pictures with my family, Ryker had a great time playing with his cousins and riding around in the little red car. He had to eat his dinner in the car. My nephew Adam was so helpful in watching Ryker for me. Ryker loved the sparklers, maybe a little too much. He started to twirl them and then started to whip it around (yikes). We had pie iron pizzas & hot dogs roasted over the fire and smores for dessert. My family then had our own little firework show. Ryker was SO tired by the end that once in the car he didn't make it down the block before he was out.
The next day (on the 4th) Dave went early morning golfing with his family and then came to get Ryker and I for the parade. Ryker loved the parade, especially the fire trucks & horses. Shane, Jami, and the kids were in from California and enjoyed all the candy that was thrown out. We went to Layton Days and enjoyed lunch (Ryker fell asleep so I ended up carrying him around). Later we had a BBQ at the Carlisle home and enjoyed a small family firework show and watching the Kaysville City fireworks from the Carlisle's yard. Ryker made it half way through the city fireworks before he fell asleep on my lap. I was surprised by how much he enjoyed the firework show. I thought the noise would make him skiddish, but it didn't.
Overall it was a wonderful weekend that ended with Sunday evening dutch oven dinner with the Penrod family. I love being able to celebrate holidays with family!

How fun! I am so jealous that you can drive right on down to Utah for even a quick weekend! Ryker is such a handsome little guy, I can't believe how much bigger he looks every time you post pics of him!
Glad you had fun! I love UT. Although it feels good to be home. Minus the wind. Ryker is so cute. What a character.
