Christmas Card 2008
Christmas Eve
New Jammies, crawling everywhere
Christmas Morning
Ryker's Loot
We hope that everyone had a great holiday season. We spent about 10 days in Utah with our families. We had a wonderful and busy time visiting with everyone and trying to share our time between the 2 families. I won't go into a lot of detail about our holidays but I would like to mention some of the highlights.
1. Ryker was so much fun. Most people told me that Ryker wouldn't care much for the presents just the wrapping & boxes. Not my son, he hardly even played with the wrapping and didn't even notice the boxes. Ryker played with his toys the entire time (and still likes to play with them between exploring adventures). Ryker made the holiday season so much brighter.
2. Christmas Eve bowling with the Carlisle family. I didn't get any pictures but we had a great time. Dave's 2 nephews had so much fun rolling the ball down the lane. It was hilarious to watch.
3. Christmas Eve dinner and gift exchange with the Penrod family. My family always gets together and has a prime rib dinner (my dad never disappoints with this meal) complete with funeral potatoes, a festive green salad, homemade rolls, and dessert. My mom also makes all her mom's favorite appetizers. After the meal we all exchange gifts and then the kids get new pajamas that they have to put on before they leave to go home. I got a nice fondue pot from my sister and can't wait to use it.
4. The Haycock & Manscill Christmas parties. We had 2 family parties on the same day. The Haycock family is Dave's extended family and the Manscill family is mine. Both parties included good food and great company.
5. Jami & Shane came in from Sacramento. Their family has never enjoyed a holiday with our family. Although they didn't come until Saturday we enjoyed every minute we had with them.
6. 2 date nights without Ryker. We took Colby & Erin (Dave's sister) out to dinner at Goodwood BBQ. Colby graduated from Utah State in Civil Engineering in December. We were unable to make the graduation so we wanted to celebrate his success. We also went to an extremely nice Steakhouse at the Gateway with Dave's uncle Matt & aunt Jodi. We had a great time catching up with them. They are always so much fun to be around. After Dave and I spent some time shopping around for my birthday gifts.
7. Spending New Year's Eve with Tim & Tiffany and their friends. My sister had us over for a night full of Guitar Hero World Tour (like rock band), and good food. I got a sweet kiss to ring in the new year from my sweetheart.
8. Someone was nice enough to have shoveled our driveway while we were gone. We were expecting to come home to having to shovel just to get into the driveway but were pleasantly surprised to find it mostly clear. A big thanks to whom ever did this kind act of service for our family.
9. Last but not least... Dave had almost 2 full weeks off work. Ryker and I enjoyed having him around. It is only Tuesday and Ryker has been having major daddy withdrawals.
