Time has gone by so quickly, I can't believe that Ryker is one month old today. Ryker is holding his head up extremely well and is very strong. He likes to push against things with his legs and likes to be in a standing position. He is also alert and awake more hours of the day. He is getting very close to smiling at his mom & dad. Ryker is having a hard time sleeping by himself. Most nights I end up sleeping with him in my arms on the couch. I have been trying to get him napping by himself but his eyes usually pop open as soon as I set him in his bed. This has been very tiring, I feel as if I am not getting much accomplished during the day. I feel lucky if I am getting a daily shower (which I always do at some point or another). I think I am just having a hard time putting my precious baby down and letting him cry. He pulls at my heartstrings with his little cry. We did try out his bouncer today and he seemed content for about 15 minutes while I showered and got dressed. I am not sure how women function with more than one child since I am having a hard time juggling everything just taking care of one. My hat goes off to all the moms who are doing a great job raising the generations of the future.

wow he looks so cute! Can't believe he's that old already. I laughed when you talked about showering, that was one of my biggest concerns. Seems simple, but it's a struggle. I always put the baby in the bouncer chair too and in the bathroom with me. And when I had Lucy, I just made sure Ethan was in the other room watching cartoons, and her in with me so he couldn't bother her. Now, 3 kids...I have no idea what to do, I'll let you know. You guys want to hang out this weekend?
Wow a month already? He sure is a cutie. I totally understand about the shower and the sleep thing. It gets better I promise. Your a great mom.
You're so cute! You sound just like I did. I still can't go to the bathroom alone though! haha
Thank you for your comments, you are such a sweetheart!
With three kids you put the youngest down for a nap, he may or may not go to sleep but it beats the heck out of having him unload the bathroom cabinets while you shout "No! No! NO!" from inside the shower. The older two are placed in the living room, in front of the TV, and instructed to "sit here, watch this and don't get into anything or I'll strangle you. I'll be back in a few minutes."
I can remember those days of not getting to shower until some time around 4 in the afternoon. Enjoy the quiet moments of cuddling at night, I miss that and occasionally go and cuddle my baby in the middle of the night(he's 16 months old now...sob, sob) .
It sounds like you guys are doing great. Hang in there, it gets easier everyday. He still so stinkin' cute...and of course making me very baby hungry.
ryker is so dang cute. i can't wait to meet him. i can sure relate as do all these moms, it is so hard to do anything with a baby. ky is almost a year and i still most days have to wait for allan to get off work at 7pm to take a shower...actually a bath and i usually take a really long one. it is my time alone. and it is good for allan to have some time with just him and the kids. it works for us. maybe you should try it, if you don't mind going to bed with wet hair. please call me when you come down for fathers day. we would love to see you!
He is still so tiny. It was nice to talk with you on Sunday and start to get in the mommy mindset! Your such a good mom for holding him all night so he can sleep.
I guess it's already been said but I think you should treasure days of holding Ryker and doing nothing else. This will pass so soon and you may never get the chance with future children. I was too anxious for Benson to grow up and now that he is (sort of) I miss the cuddles and love the rare moment he sits and snuggles with me.
Hello sweetie, you are such a wonderful mom! Ryker is so cute!! wow how time flys:) About the no sleep and shower thing it well get better with time, but now we all know why men age better than women, because they can sleep and shower whenever they want!! lol
Love ya girl
I'm with Kim on the enjoying the moments you have of holding your baby. It seems like just a couple of months ago I had my first baby and couldn't believe that I was old enough to be a mother. Now it has been over 11 years, time goes by so fast. Take lots of pictures!
By the way, your little boy may just be a mama's boy, he loves to be by his mom.
Sharee,
Hey its Michelle Markham (Phelps) from back in the JR High and Highschool days. I found your blog on Danielle's. hopefully you dont mind that I peeked in. I love this blog stuff. You look great and so happy! Your little baby Ryker is so adorable. We have a blog but it is set to private, so if you want I can email you the invite. Just email me with your address, chellemarkham@gmail.com. Hang in there with the showering and trying to get stuff done. I don't think I felt like I could function for like 4 months or something.
