My Christmas Projects

I made this rag quilt for my niece Mariah. This was only the 2nd quilt I have ever made. It wasn't perfect and there were times I just wanted to throw it away and start over but in the end, washed and repaired, it was adorable. I hope that she enjoys this quilt, I love my Mariah!

This was the project I was hoping to start after the New Year. Ryker and I went and picked out some "Big Boy" underwear and he was excited. He pulled them all out of the package and looked at each one. Then he was side tracked and forgot about them until the next morning. He insisted on wearing them and I figured it wouldn't hurt to let him try. I put on some clothes that I didn't mind if they got wet and waited. Uh oh, an accident within 45 minutes, Woody & Buzz were sad. New pair of underwear, Lightening McQueen. Ryker went Pee pee a few times and earned a few little rewards. Then he went pooh in his underwear. This was slightly runny and I just tossed them in the garbage. Then he put on another pair, he did really well the remainder of the night and then we put a pull up on for bedtime. The next morning when given the choice "big boy underwear" or diapers he picked underwear. He had another accident within 45 minutes and then later in the evening another pooh accident and pee accident (we were getting ready to go out) I was ready to give up and so he got pull ups the rest of the night. Day 3 of potty training was Christmas Day and he didn't have a single accident (he didn't even go pooh that day). It has now been over a week and he has not had a single pee accident since day 3. As far as poohing in the potty he has still not gotten that one down. I think that some days he holds it in. Today he poohed right next to the toilet. I hope we are getting closer to achieving that goal of having a potty trained little boy before we go on our weekend get-a-way to St. George/Vegas.

Over all I am a very proud momma! I love my little man and I am amazed that he picked up on going to the bathroom so quickly.
