Our friends talked us into doing this blog. I will introduce our little family. We are the Carlisle family; David & Sharee. We met at a restaurant we both worked at when I was 16 and Dave was 17. I was dating 4 other guys but Dave was persistent in asking me out. We were great friends through high school and occasionally went out on dates. I used to give Dave advice on other girls including what to get them for holidays and birthdays.

Dave went on a mission to the Czech Republic in 1999 and I started college. I wrote to Dave every week until the last four months of his mission. He apparently thought that I was going to be engaged by the time he got home so he didn't want to waste his time writing. I did date other guys and even got semi serious with a couple of them. Dave came home in July 2001. I was in the back ground filming his return at the gate when he walked off the plane and I gasped into the camera. I knew at that moment that he would be the man I spend the rest of my life with. I figured that he would want to have fun with his friends and go out on lots of dates. He called the next day and we began spending every day together. In an attempt to keep her son at home, Dave's mom called in the troops to set Dave up on a date. Dave said he spent the entire date comparing her to me and what I would have done differently. Lets just say the plan back fired and after a weekend trip in September to see Dave's sister Jami in Sacramento we decided that we didn't want to live without one another. We were engaged in October and married on January 18, 2002
There was a blizzard on the morning of our wedding and I thought that we were going to die on the drive to the SL temple. We were late for the ceremony and they had to move everyone from the largest room to the smallest. Lucky for us the snow let up for us to get our pictures taken and then we headed over to the JS memorial building for our luncheon. We had a great reception that night although Dave totally shoved cake up my nose and all over my face. We finally got off for the honeymoon late that evening. We had an uncomfortable but fun night at the Anniversary Inn. The following day Dave went to take our belongings out to the car and he came back with everything still in his arms and a terrified look on his face. Our car had been broken into and our CD player and CDs were gone. What a way to start out. We ended up driving home with a broken window in the snow. It was a sad day. We did get through that day and actually ended up ahead when all was said and done. We got a free night stay at the Anniversary Inn (we did not stay at the same location) which we used for our first anniversary and got the most expensive suite ($350 value). We also got an updated CD player and a new window at no cost out of pocket.
We moved for Dave to attend school in CV. He started in the Mechanical Engineering program in Fall 2002. I started working for Zions Bank to help pay for living expenses. We spent 4 years in CV and loved every season except for winter.

Dave and I have been trying to have a baby since June 2002. We were successful in March 2005 and would have had a baby in Dec 05. We had major complications which ended with a D&C and weekly blood drawing to ensure that I didn't get cancer. Luckily for us we caught the problem early and suffered no major problems. We were instructed to wait a year before trying again and we were also referred to a specialist.
Dave then got a job here in IF and we started to build a house on the East side of town while we waited for his security clearance. We moved to IF in July 2006 and Dave has been working as a Nuclear Fuel Processing Engineer. In April 2007 we decided to sell our home and move to the West side of town. In record time we sold our home and moved into a new home in June 2007. We were meant to be in this location. We have met some wonderful friends in this neighborhood. We also started working with a wonderful Dr. here that has helped us achieve our dream of having a family. We are expecting our first son in April. We couldn't be happier!

That is the short version of our lives over the past 11 years. We have been married for six years and I love being married to my best friend. With everything that we have gone through, we are stronger people and a stronger couple.
